This ham is sweet but mostly spicy, smoky, and unbelievably easy. A quick rub, a few rounds of glazing, and a slow bake transform a simple pre-sliced ham into something that feels like Christmas on a platter. It’s richly caramelized, impossibly tender, and full of holiday warmth—all without demanding hours in the kitchen.

Tini’s Tips:

  • Pre-sliced (also called spiral-sliced) ham is your best friend here. It soaks up the rub, catches all the glaze, and makes every piece flavorful without you doing anything extra. The slices also make glazing way easier and help the ham heat evenly. Lazy? No—smart.

  • Look for cone-shaped hams, which are the shank end, versus the dome-shaped ones for a classic holiday ham (and because they have one long bone, they’re easier to carve!).

What You’ll Need

For the Rub

½ cup Dijon mustard

¼ cup chipotle Tabasco sauce

¼ cup packed light or dark brown sugar

Zest of 1 orange plus the orange for juicing

1 teaspoon garlic powder (add more after tasting if needed)

1 teaspoon onion powder
