I didn’t realize how simple homemade Nutella was until I made it myself. So skip the store-bought jar and make it yourself. (Fun fact: Nutella is actually just a brand name, it’s really a chocolate hazelnut spread.) There’s something so satisfying about turning a handful of hazelnuts into a rich, creamy spread right in your blender. It’s perfect on toast, fruit, crepes, waffles, or honestly straight off the spoon.

Tini’s Tips

  • Don’t stress if every bit of skin doesn’t come off the hazelnuts. Getting most of it off is perfectly fine.

  • Be patient while blending. It takes a few minutes for the hazelnuts to release their oils and become smooth, and if your spread still feels too thick, add a little more neutral oil until it reaches your desired consistency.

Makes 1 cup

What You’ll Need

1 cup raw hazelnuts

2 tablespoons neutral oil, such as avocado or vegetable
